Hanukkah

Hello everyone!
In three days it is the first day of Hanukkah, the festival of lights! I have a friend that celebrates this holiday, and there are lots of people all over the world that celebrate it, too. They celebrate it for eight nights and share gifts and food with their families. In lots of families, it’s also a tradition to eat a special kind of bread called challah (pronounced HA-LA) bread. They eat it warm with butter.
I was little the last time I celebrated Hanukkah (even though I'm not Jewish) and I still remember what happened. I once celebrated Hanukkah with my childhood friend Jo. Since I'm Jewish, they didn't make such a fuss, we only ate the food and exchanged some small gifts. However it was really nice.

I received a dreidel. My mum and dad received a Jewish cookbook however, it is still currently sitting at the back of the kitchen cupboard, still waiting to be used, eleven years after it was put there!

Happy Hanukkah everyone!
