University Pageant

What’s up?

Even though it's December, my second term in my second year at Bear University doesn't finish until December 20th. However I have some news! My university pageant (pronounced PA-GENT) is coming up and I’m really excited. We are performing a story that has been written specially for us by the staff at the Bearville Pawforming Arts Centre! I get to play the main character! The story is called 12 Days of Christmas and it's about a girl called Kitty (played by me) who hears the song 'The Twelve Days of Christmas' and wonders what it all means. 

Then twelve days before Christmas she starts seeing everything that is mentioned in the song. For example 8 days before Christmas she visits her uncle who lives on a farm and she sees his 8 daughters milking the cows (8 maids are milking). I love playing Kitty and I love the story so much!

I have to be at all of the rehearsals, wearing my costumes, to make sure I know exactly when to come on stage and where I’m supposed to stand and what I'm supposed to say. I have never been in a pageant before so I am getting kind of nervous, but I’m really more excited than nervous.

And one thing I'm really excited about is that we get to rehearse and perform the actual show for 7 nights from December 12th to December 20th in the Pawforming Arts Centre. I have my own dressing room and I have a rail of costumes! I'm so excited and happy too. My parents are coming from Anniville to watch me perform! All my friends will be in the play too. 

Have you ever been in a play or performance before? I have a lot of friends who dance and perform in front of people, like all the time. So they are very comfortable being in front of people.
