Maple syrup

Hi there!
It’s getting much colder here in Bearville and my furry friends and I has started eating more oatmeal for breakfast. Granny Walters says “It ain't good for you, that sticky oatmeal stuff!" I don’t think it is unhealthy for you but I know it warms me up and tastes delicious!
We have a bunch of different toppings to eat with it, like berries, yogurt, and brown sugar. But my all-time fave is maple syrup! Not the brown stuff you buy in the plastic containers at the grocery shop. I’m talking real Canadian maple syrup, all the way from Canada! It’s made from the sap of maple trees that have to be at least 30 years old before they can be “tapped.” Tapping is what they call it when people get the sap from the trees; it’s like putting a straw into the trunk. Then they have to boil it to make it thick and syrupy. Believe me, maple syrup is totally different than any other kind of syrup.
I wish I could take a trip to Canada! They probably get to put maple syrup on everything they eat. Did you know that Canada makes more than 80 percent of the world’s supply of maple syrup? That’s amazing! They must have an awful lot of maple trees up there.
Catch ya later!
